About Us
The Rehabilitation Research and Training Institute is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization affiliated with the New York State Rehabilitation Association that promotes research, education and training for the rehabilitation field and community providers serving people with differing abilities. RRTI was incorporated in 1991 to support the rapidly changing field of rehabilitation services. The Institute is governed by a Board of Directors that meets quarterly and governs the Institute.
A CLEARINGHOUSE ...
RRTI serves as a clearinghouse for education, information and resources for state agencies, community not-for-profit agencies, industries, businesses and policy makers. The Institute meets their needs by providing:
- Regional classroom seminars
- Distance learning through audio conference and web seminar
- On-site technical assistance
- A network of proven experts in specialized industry topics
- Customized Training Institutes
- Regional forums with community and business partners
- Annual Executive Management Institute
- Annual Leadership Training Conference
- Accredited Training through CRCC and the State Board of Accountancy to provide CRC credits for Rehabilitation Counselors, and CPE credits for Certified Public Accountants
A CATALYST ...
RRTI conducts stakeholder policy forums designed to provide information, promote understanding and make recommendations to improve the technical features of new and ongoing state initiatives. The Institute maintains active dialogue with state agency, industry and research partners that result in improved service delivery systems and positive outcomes for individuals with disabilities. Through research and analysis, the Institute develops and offers utilitarian products for use by community providers and the rehabilitation field.
A CONVENER ...
RRTI is backed by a highly credentialed pool of experts, and convenes professionals to share knowledge about best industry practices. The Institute conducts training on the most current topics for community rehabilitation agency executives, financial managers, clinical directors, program directors, program managers and supervisors, service coordinators, employment specials, rehabilitation counselors and direct service staff. Technical seminars are offered that cross multiple service systems (OMRDD, OMH, SED, DOL).
